Karina’s Healthy Cooking Tips!
Healthy cooking begins with a healthy shopping list. I know this sounds obvious, however, it is the crucial first step to healthy cooking. An even better first step, before you shop for your ingredients, is to try to grow what you can, so that you can help the environment at the same time 🙂
Here are some tips for a healthy shopping list:
- Choose low-fat and low-sugar foods, where possible
- Choose skinless chicken breasts
- Choose lean cuts of meat
- Don’t buy discoloured meat, as it may be old
- Buy the freshest fruit and vegetables. The fresher, the more nutrients are packed into it
- Limit fast foods, which are usually high in fat
- Try not to buy any sugary drinks
- Try to eat whole grains or wholemeal, wherever possible
- Eggs are an inexpensive source of protein
This is something to get “egg”cited about!
Enjoy!

When I went through a particularly low money spell, eggs were a real life saver- even buying free range eggs (I cant stand the thought of caged hens even when I have no money -_-) was the easiest and cheepest way to get a good range of nutrients. Without them, I probably would have beccome malnourished.
Great healthy shopping check list aswell, its all simple stuff, but so easy to forget.Another great tip isnt not shop while hungry, when i do, all my other healthy thoughts go right out the window 😛

You are spot-on Cecily and you are wise to realise this!
I’m glad you made it through by eating quality eggs. This turned out to be “Egg”cellent! Sorry, I couldn’t help another pun 🙂
Spot on! It’s simple and easy to do and also easy to forget in our busy lives.
That is a great idea, regarding not shopping whilst hungry. I have implemented that idea in the past and I immediately saw the savings! Great tips!
Have a lovely week and it’s nice to talk with you!
